The kids had Aless for one last sleepover on Friday night. The kids stayed up until almost 10 and were up before 7, waiting on pancakes with white chocolate chips. Ryleigh asked that we celebrate Aless's August birthday before she leaves, so we did that, too. My kids, particularly Ryleigh, are going to be heartbroken when they leave this week. We'll all get together for pizza Wednesday night, and then we will say our "see ya laters."
Saturday was filled with new furniture delivery (pics later, after I replace the lampshades), old furniture donation, ballet, and Ninja Zone. Sunday was filled with some window shopping and ballet friends visiting. Monday was purchasing items found on Sunday to make the back patio a little more inviting (pics later, after a couple more deliveries). Ryleigh enjoyed playing with the hose and a funnel before the rains being pushed up by the little subtropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico washed out our day.
On an unrelated note, RJ's school does some spirit building to encourage those students in 3rd-5th grades taking standardized tests by having different colors of the day. On Tuesday, the color was yellow. RJ doesn't own much yellow, but he found a shirt and shorts that he thought would work. He told me they matched because, well, they both have yellow in them. I tried talking him out of his outfit, but that was not a battle worth fighting.
This week, the kids have their regular classes, plus an extra dance rehearsal together on Saturday. That should be interesting (painful?). While I have them at the extra rehearsal, Jip will be attending a job fair, looking for people to fill up some of the vacancies he has at the shipyard.
