That's a Wrap!

School wrapped up this week.  RJ and Ryleigh both had terrific years!

RJ is very sad school has ended.  He is going to miss his friends and his teachers.  Ryleigh, on the other hand, is very ready to be done with school so she can go to first grade.

My parents came to visit for a few days, though you wouldn't know it with my failure to get pictures.  We went out for ice cream on the last day of school.  We played lots of board games.  We watched The Incredibles at home and The Incredibles 2 in the theater.  Grandpa, Jip, and the kiddos went to a Norfolk Tides game and I took Grandma to urgent care for an ugly cough.  We were all so glad they could make the trip!

Ryleigh and RJ had their dance recital on Sunday.  They both did a great job!  None of us can get the catchy music out of our heads, though.  :)

The kids are at BrickHeadZ all week.  I'm volunteering Tuesday-Friday.  Then, Mexico here we come!  We are all so excited!  As always, pics to come.  Until next time, cheers!

Picture Catch-Up

The spring pictures are making their way back to us.

RJ's Class Picture.

Ryleigh's Class Pictures.  The first one is her morning class.  The second one is the slightly smaller afternoon class being silly.

And, Ryleigh's spring school picture.

The kids' dance pictures made it home, too.

This is the last week of school.  The kids have their normal activities.  And, they are very much looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa Downey coming to town to hang out and see their dance recital, which is on Sunday.  Hopefully our weather will cooperate and we can be outside without getting wet or melting in the humidity.

As always, pics to come.  Until next time, cheers!

Ryleigh's Kindergarten Graduation

Way to go, Ry Jo!

They Are So Cute

Tuesday evening, Ryleigh convinced Jip to go to 1000 Degrees, a counter-service pizza place whose oven is supposedly 1000 degrees.  From the pictures on Jip's phone, it looks like she was quite the character that evening.  She told Jip his cap was keeping her warm.

Wednesday was the time to say "see ya later" to our neighbors.  Ryleigh and RJ kept it together until the door closed behind Aless and family.  They were both so heart-broken to see Aless go.  Luckily, the three of them got to FaceTime and exchange a few iMessages today.  It's always funny to eavesdrop to my kids on the "phone."  Without having a landline to practice on, they just aren't sure how to talk on a phone/FaceTime.  It's awkward and cute.

As promised last week, I'm including a photo of our new living room furniture since I found some lampshades I like a little better than my old ones.

This week, we have Ryleigh's Kindergarten graduation.  She still goes to school the following day and all next week, but I think her school does this before the public schools have their graduations next week.  Ryleigh is so excited to wear a new "dress" (you'll see what I mean in the pictures next week) and her wedge sandals.

The weekend will have our normal ballet and Ninja Zone.  It may be another rainy weekend, so in between activities, I'm sure we'll chill with movies and board games.

As always, pics to come.  Until next time, cheers!
