The kiddos continue to do their school work. This 4th Quarter is challenging in that I'm finding it hard for the kids to be excited about their school work. It is so little compared to what they can handle and it is pretty easy for both of them. So, we're working on learning cursive and doing other enrichment activities. Last week, RJ and Ryleigh both did art projects that took them more than a couple hours--yay for being busy. Ryleigh made a puppet theater and RJ made a paper fidget toy.
The kids continued their extracurricular activities. Their dance studio is now planning a filmed recital in the studio (no parents) at the end of June with a watch party, probably on Facebook, later in the summer and hopefully a theater performance in November.
Ninja Zone is a little more challenging to make work at home, but RJ's found ways to see his teacher and let them see him do his various ninja things.
With a little bit of help (and I do mean little), I put together this really fun puzzle. It actually wasn't as hard as it looked. There was enough variance in the shades of red, white, and blue that it was pretty easy to pick out which pieces went in each section.
And, finally the kids and Jip invented a game that resembles hockey, but with brooms and a tennis ball. The goalie has to keep the ball out of the garage.
Virginia is slowly opening back up. Restaurants can serve people in a socially-distanced way on a patio or in a parking lot. Haircuts with everyone wearing masks are happening--RJ has one scheduled for this weekend! I registered RJ for a couple of Code Ninja week-long camps, crossing my fingers they'll happen. We're still eagerly waiting for the state to give their blessings to gym-related activities for kids. And of course, how school will look is very much up in the air. These are indeed crazy times.
