Back to It

Yay!  We all got back to it, whatever our it may be, this week, and we are all so very glad.

RJ and Ryleigh started school on Tuesday.  We had to take the obligatory first day of school pictures holding their signs.  And, Ryleigh got to wear her Class of 2030 shirt for the first time.

RJ has the same bus driver and has the same pick-up and drop-off times as last year, so when Tuesday came, it all felt so very familiar.

Then a short time later, I dropped Ryleigh off for full-day Kindergarten.

Both kids have great teachers.  They are going to have great years!

Ryleigh started gymnastics again on Thursday.  RJ started Ninja Zone again on Sunday.  I started volunteering for Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.  Jip enjoyed having a gym at work again.  It felt good for all of us to get (back) into our routines.

On Saturday, we took a little bike ride along the Great Dismal Swamp.  The kids stopped to pose with the park's mascot "Chessie."

It was a beautiful temperature and there was a light breeze.  It felt like fall was starting to say "hello."

While Jip was getting everything ready for our bike ride and getting my car ready for my trek to pick up the gymnastics bar (yes--we made that happen!), Ryleigh did her best to be safety conscious.

I made a 9-hour round trip to Maryland to pick up the gymnastics bar Jip found on Craigslist.  The family is moving to Ireland, so we are helped them downsize.  While I made the drive on Sunday, Jip kept the kids entertained.  It was a great day for flying a kite and being at the playground.

The gymnastics bar is now set up in the playroom.  We'd really like to try to make it work there rather than in the garage.  We'll see how it goes.  Pics to come later.

This week, RJ gets back into robotics and Ryleigh's ballet gets rolling.  The whole family will continue to keep finding our groove with a few fun activities sprinkled in.  As always, pics to come.  Until next time, cheers!
