Just a few random things today. Tonight, Amy mentioned that we needed to donate the extra toys that we've collected over the past year and are now set aside for Toys for Tots. Being the inquisitive little boy that he is, RJ asked what Toys for Tots was about. I thought about it for a second and then tried my best to explain that it's an opportunity for more fortunate families to give to less fortunate and to make sure that all little kids get some toys. Well, it completely backfired on me, and RJ started bawling because he thought we were giving away his toys to other children. It took some serious consoling and explaining to get him to quasi-understand that we were NOT giving his toys away. Lesson learned--charity is not an easy concept for a three year old.
We dug out the Christmas tree (yes, it's fake) today and Amy is actually working on some decorating and Christmas-izing right now while I type this. RJ thought it was very cool. Ryleigh was mystified, but quickly got used to it and got on with her evening.
Ryleigh took a few steps tonight. Amy and I have been trying for a while to get her to take a few independent steps, but she keeps collapsing back down to her knees. Tonight, she actually took a few steps without holding on to anyone--yay!! Maybe she'll do some video worthy walking soon.
Not much else new and exciting tonight. Have a great day!
