The kids don't understand how badly Mom and Dad want to unpack the boxes and get settled. All they know is that there are a bunch of parks to explore. So, yesterday I took them to the park that is 1.5 blocks from our house and today we went to a park that came highly recommended in a Facebook group of tuned-in Chula Vista Moms. Here are a few pics.
We *think* we have one more box of kitchen/dining room stuff to unpack--the all-important margarita and martini glasses that haven't seen the light of day in 35 months and haven't had a drink in them for much longer than that! Just before dinner, Jip discovered shoes, handbags, and clothes that went into storage. It will be interesting to go through those and see what I don't need anymore--our donation/give to friends and family box is already overflowing, but those boxes should put it over the top! We have a few things for Craigslist and three things for bulk garbage pick-up--if only we knew then what we know now about our space limitations and our needs/wants, we could have shaved several hundred pounds off our moving weight and been well-under our allowance. Oh well. Now we have to focus on keeping under the weight allowance for the next move.
Progress in getting settled is slow, but forward!
Come on now, priorities, get those margarita and martini glasses out!!! You won't care how much there is left to unpack at that point ;-)
