After 10 long months without a gymnastics competition, Ryleigh finally got to compete at an in-house meet on January 16. The goal of the in-house meet was to provide scores that could qualify gymnasts for State (if there is a State meet), Nationals (for the upper-level girls), and to possibly move up a level for the 2021-2022 season. There were no ribbons or awards handed out, but her coach did text me to tell me that Ryleigh tied for 2nd All-Around for all levels that day. She was pleased as punch--Ryleigh has never had her scores compared to girls in other levels.
Though there are a few differences between the gyms and her coaches, the overall feel is one of camaraderie and support, and Cascade Elite West is turning out to be a good choice. Ryleigh seems to fit in well and she truly loves going to practice.
Ryleigh has her first meet against girls from other teams this weekend at a Casino, and she is nervous. But, as you can see, she's barely missed a step since last March and she'll do just fine, I'm sure.
