Last week was nice and routine. Activities went as scheduled. Work and volunteering were surprise-free. To break up the routine, the kids' school PTA put on an evening of book bingo on Friday. Anytime you won a game, you got to pick out a book. They made sure every kid had a book by the time the evening was over. The PTA also provided flavored ice, which made my two super happy.
RJ started coding again at Sylvan. We thought it was going to be a continuation of his drag and drop coding classes from the fall, but instead, he is learning Java Script. RJ has officially moved beyond mom and dad's capacity to help in the computer realm. But, both kiddos did some drag and drop coding at Sylvan at a kids' STEM day on Monday. They were there a half-day, which was perfect for Jip and I, as we got some errands done that included a lot of hemming and hawing at Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, and Home Depot.
Our snow never materialized. The cold sure came for a visit, though. It was wintery enough for Ryleigh that she had us break out one of the puzzles I bought. Hopefully we can save the other puzzle, which is going to be much, much more difficult, until the snow days that are surely coming our way in the next two months.
The upcoming weekdays should be pretty normal. Ryleigh has her first gymnastics meet of the season this Saturday evening. Unfortunately, Jip has a formal Navy event that evening. So he'll go to the mandatory fun and I'll take on the meet.
As always, pics to come. Until next time, cheers!

Sharing A Few Photos
We had a pretty normal week. Jip went to San Diego for the week and got to eat some good food. The kids and I got to stay here and got to eat leftovers or whatever Mom's diner was serving. The kids had Greer and Audrey over for a sleepover on Saturday that was fun but led to very tired kids from staying up too late and waking up too early. The kids were hoping for winter weather on Sunday, but alas it went to the north and we just got A LOT of rain. Some weather dudes are predicting snow next Sunday, but we'll see.
I did not take a single picture all week. So, I'll just share a few pics from our Downey family photo session we had the day after Christmas. It was chilly for the littles, but I think we got some good shots. And, it was even a little fun.
This week should be ordinary. We're hoping to just chill over the long weekend. But, if it should snow on Sunday, I have two new puzzles coming from Amazon just in case. I have hot chocolate. Snow gear is washed and ready to go. The generator will be primed in case we get lots of ice on the power lines. Now that I'm typing my preparations, maybe I'm crossing my fingers for a little snow. But, then it all needs to melt on Monday so that kids can go back to school on Tuesday and we won't have yet another missed day of school to make up.
Check back next week to see how it really turned out. Until next time, cheers!

Happy New Year!
It is hard to believe 2019 already showed up. 2018 flew by while we were busy being busy. We look forward to the new adventures that 2019 will bring us!
Now for some randomness. I was going through my phone and realized I missed sharing our pictures from the symphony before Christmas. Ryleigh and I enjoyed wearing our matching scarves that day and did it again at the airport so people wouldn't have any doubt we go together. Plus, Ryleigh is small enough that hers made an excellent blanket on the plane.
We got word the day we left for Colorado that Ryleigh's gymnastics pictures were in. So, they had to wait until she went back to class on Thursday. They don't offer digital files, so this scan of the photo is the best I can do to share the cuteness.
I made a new winter wreath. The first day I hung it up, it was over 60 degrees. They say the polar vortex is going to break into three parts and then it will get cold here. We'll see. Until then, we'll have to pretend it is winter with some MDF and paper.
And, finally, Happy Anniversary to us! Jip and I "celebrated" 20 years on Wednesday. Why the quotes? Well, Jip returned to work that day, the kids went to school that day, and I went to the grocery store. Maybe we'll do a better job of celebrating later in the month?
We are still working on finding our routines. Jip is traveling this week. But, the kids and I are back to our regular school/volunteering and after-school activities. Yay!
Until next time, cheers!

Happy Holidays 2018!
We had a wonderful time in Colorado for Christmas! It was so great to see everyone and let the kids rediscover their family. We had beautiful weather in Fort Collins and chilly, but clear, weather in Granby. The food was all excellent. Most of all, the company was just perfect.
Now we are trying to get back into our routine. The Christmas decorations are down. School is back in session. The pantry has kid food again. All is well in the Mosman household.
We hope you had a holiday season as grand as ours. Best wishes for a wonderful 2019!
Until next time, cheers!

Getting Their Dance On
During the last dance class for 2018, each kiddo did an in-studio performance. Parents were able to sit in the studio and take pictures and video and make their children nervous. Still, Jip and I had fun, and I think the kiddos did, too.
Enjoy these Winter 2018 In-Studio Performances!
