Asobono and Chapu Chapu Creek

After some more swimming at the New Sanno this morning, we headed to Tokyo Dome City for lunch and play. First, we took a walk through the food court. The kids' menus didn't have any recognizable food on them, so we found a McDonald's nearby.

Jip is pointing to the picture menu--thank goodness for picture menus!

McNuggets and a hamburger made kids and Jip happy. I was brave and tried something solely based on a picture. It turned out to be basically a filet o' fish with chopped up shrimp in it. It was delicious!

After lunch, it was play time. This is the second time we've been to Asobono, but the way the kids ran around and went exactly to the play areas they wanted to go to, you would think they lived there.

Darn weird English spelling rules strike again!

After Asobono, we headed back to the parking garage. But, we got a little sidetracked along the way at Chapu Chapu Creek. The creek is just a long pool of water with some rapids, a crazy riptide, and lots of foam toys for floating from one end to the other. The kids played, played, and played. It was over 60 degrees today, so we were glad to let them play outside in the water.

It was a great afternoon with the kiddos, but Jip and I were very grateful for the silence coming from the backseat on the way home. The kids played hard and napped hard! What a fun mini-vacation (actually, more like micro-vacation) in Tokyo!
