Dinner with Juan

June 1997. That's when I first met our friend Juan. He and I went through Officer Candidate School together,and our paths have continued to criss-cross over the years.

We've written about him before in this blog. He's now retired out of the Navy and currently works for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. A couple times a year, Juan comes to Japan to help run drills. Each time he's been here, he's taken the time to get together with us for dinner. Tonight, we all went to Chili's and had a nice visit. RJ had to tell him about a gazillion things and started every sentence with, "Juan,..." Ryleigh wasn't sure what to think of him, but got over her uneasiness to devour some mac and cheese.

It's been nice to have someone to catch up with from time to time over the past 16 years, and we hope to continue to cross paths with him for many years to come.
